Overclocked 235e, still a bottleneck?

Just upgraded a few components, Specs:
MB:GA-78LMT-S2P rev 5.0
CPU: Athlon II 235e
Ram: Sector 5 (2x4GB) 1333mhz
SSD: Vertex 3 60GB
PSU: Cooler Master GX 650w
Cooler: Hyper TX3
GPU: EVGA GTX 570

My 570 is only reaching 40-60% load on bf3. Although I am getting 30-70fps on medium settings 1920x1200. The 235e is clocked at 3.60ghz right now, im limited due to the ram, and the fact that this motherboard is not that great for over clocking. Thoughts?

More about overclocked 235e bottleneck
  1. Yes the 235e is the part holding you back, might even have a hard time keeping up with less GPU than GTX570. BF3 is one of few games that benefits from better CPU's.
  2. Wow, what would be a good processor for am3+ with the limiting factor of a 95w board. I can adjust voltages, but from what Ive heard is this board is not the best to do it on.
  3. Wait for Piledriver. It's a few weeks away and the FX-4350 will be 95w.
  4. alright, will do. Hopefully it doesnt suck like the past few amd processors that came out
  5. The FX4350 should be an improvement over the FX4100 so it would be worth waiting for.
  6. I think I can be patient enough. But im reading the specs, isnt that 125w processor? 4320 is 95w, but arent they just the same processor, with different clocks?
  7. The 4350 is the next-gen 4100. It's not just the clockspeed.
  8. well is also has a bigger l3 cache. I thought this board had a 95w limit, but looking back at the specs I dont see anything about tdp limitations

If you look at the CPU support list all the FX CPU's listed are 95watt for example.

I mean im not sure what limit my motherboard has. Doest say in the manual or on gigabyte's website for this board

No it is not posted anywhere you can read it though of the CPU support list, since they do not support the 125watt version of the same CPU's that are supported with 95watt TDP.
  12. Gotcha, thanks for the help. Ill just have to save up some more and quit being so anxious.
