my motherboard has pci 1.1 x16 slot
so will i be able to run a gtx 550ti or hd 6770 without any problems??

  1. Yes. PCIE 2.0, 2.1 is backward compatible

Overall, graphic cards or motherboards designed for v2.0 will work with the other being v1.1 or v1.0a.

    actually it would be like a pci-e x16 slot running a x8 mode; which is enough for those cards.
