Screen goes black for 2-5 seconds and freezes

Hello,
i have this problem where my computer freezes for about 5 seconds and then the screen goes black and comes back on and does it continuesly depending on what game i'm playing, i use an asus radeon 6670 and went to play skyrim and done it on the menu so i couldn't get into the game, it does it sometimes when i'm just on the desktop but rarely, i think it 'Might' be VPU Recover related but it doesn't say that message afterwards, i have 4GB Ram Amd Triple Core Processer, ideas for a solution? Thanks

David, your GPU could be going bad, corrupt GPU drivers or a bad power supply.

Start with uninstalling and reinstalling you GPU drivers.

Make sure your GPU is properly seated into its socket.

I don't suppose you have a spare psu laying around? To test to make sure it's not your current psu.

Double check your GPU temp as well.

Note: Overclocking your GPU can cause damage to it.
