What is anti static protection

what is the function of anti static protection

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Static is a form of electricity that we all generate in smaller or larger amounts. It can adversely affect computer internal parts so it's best that we earth (ground in the US) ourselves before touching anything in the case. You can buy wristbands that clip to a metal part of the case to prevent static transfer.

It's a strange word to use for this purpose - it's anything but static when it runs up your arm to your brain cells!
