I just bought a Canon i550 printer. I have a few USB cables laying around, I'm sure they were made when USB 2.0 was not invented. So can USB 1.1 cables work at the same speed as USB 2.0?

Most printers don't use USB Full speed anyway so it shouldn't matter. The slower link is still how fast the page can be printed, not the data transfer rate.
