More about trying find vendor stock
  1. You probably aren't going to find those two in stock at major retail stores. Last year AMD said they were not going to be making the AthlonII and Phenom II and it didn't take long for most of the Phenom II's to sell out especially when everyone saw how bad Bulldozer is. You best chance at finding those CPU's is on Ebay.
  2. There's no reason to buy anything past a Phenom II X4 955, since that's the first "black edition" processor, which means its unlocked.

Basically you can OC a 955 to the exact same speed as any other Phenom II.

The 955's been in and out of stock for quite a while, Phenom II stock is going to be really thin soon (even now), so if you can find one for cheap, it's actually a REALLY good bargain at the low end.

Searching "Phenom II x4" on microcenter yields only this: http://microcenter.com/product/389134/Phenom_II_X4_B93_Socket_AM3_Processor
For $40, you can get a quad core with all the cache at 2.8GHz, it is "in store only" though.
The B93 is basically a Phenom II x4 925, so it does have a locked multiplier.

    NCIX has a 965 for $90 http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=46281&vpn=HDZ965FBGMBOX&manufacture=AMD&promoid=1219
