6870 1gb xfire vs 6870 2gb xfire for 1920x1200
Its about $60 more for the 2 gb, but i want to be able to max out Metro and BF3. Not worried about micro stutter or xfire issues. It will be at least a month before I purchase so a 7970 which I know is the best choice may be doable but i'm trying to keep it around $400. No problem with Nvidia just like the bang for buck w/ ati. Thanks in advance/sorry if this has been asked but i haven't seen anything on 6870 1gb vs 2gb xfire.

Since your concerned about BF3 I would definitely recommend a nvidia card, as AMD cards have performance/driver issues with it. (It's one of the few games where a GTX 580 can beat a 7970). Newegg has GTX 580s for less than $400...

More memory only helps if the games ask for it. If you're running at resolutions higher than 1920x1080, you definitely want that extra memory. Some games can use lots of memory at lower resolutions with certain features enabled.

The GTX 580 also has the advantage of future upgrades, as you can add several more in SLI (If you start out with 2 68xx cards you can't add any more at a later date)

So which of these is better for overclocking?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125364 I like the 3 fan design but don't know much about Gigabyte

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127567 I have a little more faith in MSI and it has about double the reviews

They will be in a HAF 932 with An ASRock Extreme 3 Gen 3 w/ double wide pcie slots.
