Geforce video cards

Hi, with GTX 600 series on their way, i am kinda confused if i should buy 2xGTX 680 when they come out or wait for next series.

i got radeon HD 4870 now and need an upgrade. Is there any chance that Nvidia will release 7 series (or whatever they gona call it) in next 6 months or so ? how frequently they release new models ? what was the time difference between 400 series and 500 series, or 200 series and 400 series ?

I really dont want to spend 1000$ on video cards and then regreat it because Nvidia or ATI release 2 time faster one 6 months later

400 series was released in Q1 of 2010 with GTX 470 and 480 and 500 Series was released in Q3 of 2010 with the GTX 580

Nvidia don't even launched 600 series.
If you need upgrade you can wait for the 600 launch, but waiting for 700 series I think it's a bit too much.

My recommendation: Wait for 600 series launch. Compare benchmarks, tests, technology, etc. And only then buy a NV 600 series or an AMD 7000 series. Don't to wait more than that.

If you base your decision to buy on what MAY be coming out in the future, you will never buy anything. Buy what's available, and then maybe you can skip a release before you HAVE to upgrade..
