all the parts look compatible to me. congrats on your new system
  2. It is good.
  3. While the build is indeed good, I have one vital tip that might not be very practiced on this forum. You could easily take off $100 and upgrade many of the parts by removing Windows 7 off of the build itself. You can download Windows 7 and install the setup to a USB stick or you can take the legal way out and download Windows 8 instead and pray that there are drivers for it. I really suggest you do one of those to be able to upgrade the parts, because without Windows on the build, this is what I recommend.

I am aware that taking Windows off will free up the budget a bit, and if this was my $600 computer, I would for sure do that, but being as it is for a client, I would like to give them the greatest satisfaction possible.

That being said, he does want to keep his 1TB hard drive, that has Windows 7 or Vista or something on it. So that takes like $175 off of my budget. I revised this late last night, so I didn't take your message into consideration before doing so.

That also being said, I probably will use the i5-3450, since I kinda want a free T-shirt. Here is my revised version:

    i5-3450

    HIS Radeon 6870

Asus P8H61-M (to be fair, he also needs USB ports. The Asus has 6, where the ASrock has 4)
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=188261&CatId=7162

    Sony Optiarc

MSI IN-9410 Raptor Mid Tower Case

Corsair CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 Vengeance Desktop Memory Module - 4GB
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7025808&CatId=4534

    $554.

Also, I am not planning on using rebates, as I forget more than anything.

EDIT: Fail I forgot the PSU.

    CX500

    $614 then
  5. Well the 5770 just went out of stock, I was thinking of using a Radeon 6750. Ideas?

  7. I would think photoshop would like a quad core, compared to a dual core for rendering and high speed calculations, i would go the the fx 4170, saves money, and is a beast with games
