How to make my build cheaper

I've begun building a gaming desktop on I have built a pretty nice machine, but its price is a little over what I wanted. I need some advice on what I can tune down a little and still get the same or close to the same performance. Here is the link to the desktop before I customized it.

RAM: 8GB (2GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair or Major Brand)
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 2gb (it was a free upgrade to 2gb).
Power Supply: 700 Watts - Standard Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
Hard Drive: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)
Optical Drive: 24X Double Layer Dual Format DVD+-R/+-RW + CD-R/RW Drive

I also have Diablo 3 in that but it has a 60$ Mail In Rebate so it's free.

  1. Multiple issues with this build. First of all, what is your budget and will it be primarily gaming PC?

as a rule of thumb, never get anything from cp labeled "standard" or "major brand".

so nix the PSU. go with a Corsair, Coolermaster, or RAIDMAX (cheaper but not the best).
Change the RAM to 4gb x 2 config and get a branded one... Vengeance or Hyper X are the usual offerings.
i would upgrade from the 560 2gb to the 560 Ti 1gb. its a better card.
You could easily OC the thing yourself and save some money there.
i would lose that budget liquid cooler and get a regular fan. Thermaltake FRIO or Hyper 212 EVO.

use promo code for 5% off if over 1k. there are other promo codes for totals less than 1k. either way, keep some of your money!
