Thank you for the input! I think the Corsair case is exactly what I wanted. How are ASRock mobos? I'm not familiar with that company at all. I have a Microcenter nearby so I can pick up a CPU cheaper than what I can find online.

There is only a $20 difference between the 2500k and the 3570k. Which one would be the best bet and which mobo would work best?

ASRock tends to get good ratings and have slightly lower prices than the Gigabyte and ASUS counterparts. I would recommend you go with the 2500k if you plan on major overclocking (>4.5GHz) and the 3570k otherwise (it uses less power). If you get the 3570k you need a Z75 or Z77 motherboard

Asrock is solid. They are the #3 board manufacturer in sales behind Asus and Gigabyte. With you having access to Micro Center I would look at these boards, CPU and RAM and then pick the rest from Amazon. Also look at the CM EVO cpu cooler on Amazon for $35 and free shipping.

I just pulled a PSU from one of my storage boxes. Would you think this will suffice with my 7970? Don't want to have to buy another PSU if this works.

I'm split between the i5 2500k or the 3570k. It's about a $15 difference but which one would work best for me? I do not plan on OCing all that much and if I do it be on the safer sides of things.

i5 2500k @ Microcenter for $169.99 ($185.00 with tax)
ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 @ Amazon for $105 - I'm not sure if this board works but I ran across it checking out amazon.
Total: ~$290

i5 3570k @ Microcenter for $189.99
ASUS P8Z77-V LX Socket @ Microcenter for $89.99 (including the $50 combo price)

Total with tax ~$305.00

There's hundreds of benchmarks across the net in regards to Ivy Bridge vs Sandy Bridge. I have yet to see a benchmark where SB did better than IB.

Ivy Bridge brings native 3.0 USB, PCI-E 3, Thunderbolt, more transistors, etc... The peeps pushing SB remind me of the hard core old school AMD freaks. Get the B cpu and call it good. Why buy old tech when you can move ahead and get newer and better? It's what technology is all about.

Fair enough. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be missing out on anything. I'll head to MC tomorrow to see what else I can pick up for my rig. Thanks again to both of you guys.
