Removing ridiculously tightly screwed on CPU Cooler

Hi Guys,

As the subject says, I have a CoolerMaster V8 I bought about 3 years ago mounted onto an Asus P6t Deluxe V2 in an Antec 1200 case. I don't know how I managed it at the time but the cooler is proving impossible to remove. I badly want to clean the fans, de dust and re apply heat paste as temps have started to creep up, but I just can't get the damn thing off, the screws are too tight :s.

Does anyone have any magic solutions to this issue?

Many thanks for any advice, or even threads of similar worth, I'm afraid I'm brand new here.
