Hey Guys, Samo here.

I finished my first build mid-way through last month and I am already seeking upgrade options. My GTX560 will not be upgraded neither will the HDD, DVD Drive, Case or CPU Fan. I would like to upgrade from my AM3+ FX-4100 and Gigabyte GA-970a-D3 combo, but I just don't know whether to join the Intel camp and buy a new board, or to keep my FX-4100 and buy a better Mobo.

Thanks!

Upgrading a motherboard makes no sense; it won't make your cpu run faster. You may not need an upgrade. What games do you play?

According to Tom's Hardware - Best Gaming CPUs for the Money: May 2012, you could upgrade your CPU to the FX4170, but I don't know that it would provide that much of an improvement for the cost.

If you decide to go with an Intel upgrade, I would say anything less than a Sandy-/Ivy-Bridge Core I5 would not be worth it to you.
