hello everyone,

Yesterday i increased the ram of my rig to 4gb and also installed a new gfx card (ati 6670 1 gb ddr5).

So in order to fully use 4gb i installed windows 7 64 bit.
But now when I play games my CPU gets overheated(upto 100 C).
So i wanted to ask that does a core2 duo processer supports windows 7 64 bit.

My processor is -amd phenom x2 BE (http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/pii5...)

My psu is-500w amigo (http://www.sethiainfotech.com/computer-hardware/power-s...)

I have 4gb ram and my gfx card power req is 400w.

There is no dust on my cpu fan. So how can i get rid of this overheating issue? :bounce:
Is my PSU not giving sufficient power?? I could not find any s/w to montor psu power usage.

Did you clean the CPU and Heatsink surfaces and install fresh thermal paste on the CPU yet? That would be my first steps.

I cleaned the fan but not installed fresh thermal paste. Means windows 7 64 bit is not an issue???

Correct. The version of windows has nothing to do with your temps. Install fresh thermal paste. Just a small dab in the center of the cpu and reattach the heatsink firmly. You should see your temps go down dramatically.
