Hidden PCI-E slot?

Here is a picture of my motherboard

If you look above the 3 crappy PCI slots there seems to be the..... tracks(?) for a PCI-E slot.

I was wondering if it would be possible to say... buy a PCI-E slot and solder it onto the board.

Darn near undo-able without robotics, but I guess anything is possible. Would it work, is another question. The chipset would have to be aware of it, and the BIOS would have to be as well. I can see no practical way it would work... but then I've never done it.

... besides, how do you know it's PCIe? It could be AGP.

When I look closely the PCI slots SAY PCI under them. Under these tracks it says PCI-E x16
