Faceplates - GBP 14.99 / 19.99 Euro
Controller (wired) - GBP 24.99 / 37.99 Euro
Component HD-AV Cable - GBP 19.99 / 29.99 Euro
Hard Drive (20GB) - GBP 69.99 / 99.99 Euro
Memory Unit (64MB) - GBP 22.99 / 34.99 Euro
Wireless Controller - GBP 32.99 / 44.99 Euro
Play & Charge Kit (recharges Wireless Controller during play) - GBP
14.99 / 19.99 Euro
Rechargeable Controller battery pack - GBP 9.99 / 14.99 Euro
Wireless Networking Adapter - GBP 59.99 / 79.99 Euro
Headset - GBP 14.99 / 19.99 Euro
Universal Media Remote - GBP 19.99 / 29.99 Euro
SCART AV Cable - GBP 17.99 / 24.99 Euro
VGA HD-AV Cable - GBP 19.99 / 29.99 Euro

So a couple of things here... That weird dongle that appears on top of
the 360 in some pics is apparently the hard drive.

Second, since the price in $ and the price in Euros is the same value
on the system (Microsoft thinks $299 and $399 = 299E and 399E when in
reality it's more like $299 = 245.492E and $399 = 327.596E) I'm
guessing we can assume that the Euro pricing will hold true for the
American add-ons as well.

Sooo... that means if you're going to be cheap and get the $300 box
you'll also need...

Component HD-AV Cable - GBP 19.99 / 29.99 Euro
Hard Drive (20GB) - GBP 69.99 / 99.99 Euro
Wireless Controller - GBP 32.99 / 44.99 Euro
Headset - GBP 14.99 / 19.99 Euro
Universal Media Remote - GBP 19.99 / 29.99 Euro

Suddenly the $300 box jumps up to $525 and you haven't even bought any
games yet! In other words you save $125 by buying the $400 kit.
Alternatively you can think that for $100 more Microsoft is providing
$225 worth of value effectively reducing the real "cost" of the 360 to
$275.

I realized that, too. Microsoft wants people to buy the deluxe package. But
after paying $400 for a console I don't have any money to buy the $60 games.

See, now that's why I've been saying all along there's no point in
pre-ordering this early.

On the down side expect a whole lot more of those "Get a free Xbox
360!" posts.

I cancelled my pre order today and I am officially taking a wait and see
attitude now.
BTW, I wasn't the only one that did, cancel their pre order.

Does it matter? If this generation is an indication of the next, Xbox
won't have any games to play anyway.

Just more jacking off to Kasumi and playing Halo.

I thought the 360 was going to use only wireless controllers. Where do you
plug in wired controller(s)?

There are two USB ports on the front (under the little oval hinged door to
the right of the "ring of light" if the console is lying horizontally) and
one in the back.

I won't; I don't own an HDTV.

> Wireless Controller - GBP 32.99 / 44.99 Euro

I won't; it matters not to me if the controller is wireless.

> Headset - GBP 14.99 / 19.99 Euro

I won't; I already own one, and I suspect 99% of XBL subscribers, who,
by the way, will have no use for Microsoft's lame, complimentary
"silver level" XBL membership, won't either.

> Universal Media Remote - GBP 19.99 / 29.99 Euro

I won't; this is a useless peripheral for those of us who a) don't mind
getting up to turn their consoles on, and b) don't plan to use their
X360 as a DVD player.

Your math is faulty -- even a chimp with ADD can tell.

If the HD is offered separately at the U.S. launch, I'll buy one and
the $299 X360. My needs will be sated. You can have your component HD
cable and practice auto-asphyxiation with it, and aim your splooge at
the "X360 Power" button on the near-useless remote.

Maybe someone showed Ballmer what most gamers looked like, and he decided
it'd be best to leave the camera *off*. ;)

Yeah, that was my first thoughts too...

BTW, if most Live players are immature kids, if one of them did try to
send you a picture of his balls, would you get busted for kiddie pr0n?
