Small ticking sound from psu when turning comp on.

Is it normal? I have a Seasonic X 1050. When I turn my computer on, the psu makes a small tick/click sound, not loud, but loud enough to make me wonder what it is. Can anyone tell me what it might be?

After listening when turning the computer off I noticed it makes the same sound when turning off.

It is hard to say without knowing the construction of the PSU. In some units, a large inductor is being energized at switch on, and de-energized at switch-off, and this sometimes makes a tick sound, almost like a relay being engaged.

But usually it is nothing to worry about.
