New system, old graphics card, false economy?

Firstly I need to make something clear. I DO NOT PLAY COMPUTER GAMES!
I'm not in the slightest bit interested in producing a gazillion frames per second at a gazillion resolution.
All I need is smooth 24fps @ 1920 x 1080 on dual monitors using Sony vegas/Adobe Premier. (indie filmmaker)
I'm looking at used GPU's at my local CEX. They have a 9800 GX2 which is a hell of a step up from my old 7950 GX2 which has been sold along with my old bundle.
How will the 9800 fair? Apparently this was a flagship card a few years ago.

That card should be fine for what you want to do. Some features in modern Video Editing programs use CUDA so make sure whatever you choose is CUDA capable.

Agreed and you may need a little bigger psu thats a duel gpu card if im not mistaken...
