Ps3 problems with ethernet cable

i been looking everywhere for a solution for this problem but none seems to work. i have my ps3 for 3 months now and working fine until now. it keeps saying "an ethernet cable is not connected". i know its not my modem since its working fine right now...im using my laptop to write this so it has to be the ps3. any help would be appreciated...

Reseat the cable, then try a different one. Try a different port on the router.
