Can I Mute the Welcome Startup Music?

Forum Brands : Nokia Can I Mute the Welcome Startup Music?

My SprintPCS Nokia 3588i plays a loud annoying tune for a couple of seconds every time I
turn it on. I called Sprint and they say Nokia "may" know how to mute it. There is no
option for this welcome tune anyway on the phone (only an option to customize the welcome
text message). I'll try calling Nokia when I have the time, however any thoughts or help in
the meantime would be greatly appreciated .... Thanks.

Have a look for "Start-Up Tone" in Phone settings and change it to Off.
Every Nokia I have seen has this setting.

73 de Simon, VK3XEM.

Thanks, your suggestion led me to the solution via another method ... turns out I had to
turn off the Warning Tones under Profiles. Sprint apparently did not spec a "Start-Up Tone"
from Nokia in the 3588i.

Yes, thanks ... I think that's right. I've turned the warning tones back on because in
retrospect I can live with the short startup tune once a day ....... :-)

Unless you have it setup with a USB connection, you don't need the software.
