Should I upgrade? 1gb 6870 to 2gb 6950?

Hello all.

I currently have an XFX 1gb 6870. I love this card, have only had it a few months and it has been amazing. But recently i upgraded from a single 1920x1080 display to three 1600x900 displays in a portrait eyefinity setup. After bezel compensation the resolution comes out at 2832x1600. I have been rather suprised at just how well a single 1gb 6870 handles eyefinity at my resolution. For example i am running BF3 at medium settings at a solid 40 fps.

So now my question... Would it be worth upgrading from the 1gb 6870 to the 2gb 6950? Would i experiance much performance gain with that extra 1gb at such a high resolution?

Also would my Corsair cx600 v2 be sufficient for a 6950?

Also i am aware that i did not follow the how to ask for help guidelines. I apoloigize. Since i already know what card i would get i felt that the guidlines would only serve to add confusion/ lead away from my questions.

If you are upgrading you should go at least HD7870 the 6950 is not big enough step (apart from Vram)!

This may sound lame but i did not know such a thing existed. I have only heard of the 7970/7950. I will look into it right now.

I assume that my 2 dvi and 1 mini displayport to dvi adapter would stil work with that card for 3 monitor eyefinity?

7870 is good it has the performance of a GTX 580 so you are good to go and it will be a pretty substantial upgrade over the 6870.

Yes it should with another adapter for your second DVI since the card has 1 DVI 1 HDMI and 2 mini display ports.

I would even just go 7850 and if need be for some games OC it to the same speed of 7870
