Yamaha 2100e VK Retail?

I am going to buy a Yamaha 2100e VK Retail CD-RW. Any known problems with this CD-RW?
I will have a seperate CD-ROM drive for reading discs.

Also. What kind of software can I get for disc imaging?
I know of Norton Ghost, but I don't know how good it is.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

  2. If I answer, will you promise to go away? :)

Ok, the Yamaha drives have a few problems
    1. Noisy as an elephant being eaten by pirhana.
    2. Not a true speed (at least with the 16x and up), it can only get 16x around the edges. Or maybe the middle...I can't remember.
    3. They're expensive. Too expensive.

Otherwise, they're great drives. If you're looking for a good price/performance drive, get something like a Teac 12/10 like I did. Or a Goldstar 12/8 - my parents have one of those, it works well.

    Now leave, puny mortal!!
