Best motherboard for i5-3570k

hello everyone I'm building a new PC and have decided to get the i5-3570k over i5-2500k. Could anyone recommend a motherboard please? and would I get the best performance by getting a intel board? thank you everyone in advance!

    Hi there,

That is a good choice for the CPU.

For the mobo, I would recommend -> ... Latest Z77...

U can definitely use this one

    ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX

  2. BTW, did u already get the CPU?

I am asking because the CPU can come with nice combo.
  3. at micro center they have this awesome deal going on right now buy the cpu and get 50 bucks off of the mobo. they have this board on sale for 59.99 so it would knock it down to 10 bucks but i dont know if i should stick with a intel mobo.

the 59.99 board is the GA-Z77-D3H 1155 MATX

  4. This one is great overclocker, popular with gamer's and with great price tag : )

That is far from best : )

Do u know it is a mATX size?
  7. yes, matx is np because i wont ever use any other slot but the video card slot.
  8. If it works for u, than get that one.

But there is a limited OC with that board, just make sure u know that : )
  9. im not going to settle for the gigabyte board just yet, not without doing lots of research first but i don't plan on OC at all.
  10. Whats your budget?
  11. And what u need to be able to do with this PC?
  12. 800-1000, and really the only thing i plan on doing is playing WoW. that will most likely be the most intense thing this new computer will ever have to process.
  13. Small mobos like this one will run hotter than standard ATX.

U must have a good cooling.

And how much $$$ is just for the mobo?
  14. i didn't know that about the cooling, ok ill get a regular atx board. im going to look at all the boards you linked :) and as for a budget maybe about 150-200. i think that should get me a good board.
  15. Especially your IB CPU gets hot!

That P8Z77-V PRO would be my choice. And u can OC a lot, it is easy with your CPU.
  16. ok this is a ATX board what do you think?

i g2g for the night but thank you very much for all your feedback.
  17. Intel's mobos are good quality, will last long time. But they are stripped of the features and are not good overclockers like others are.
  18. I don't plan on over clocking, no need too but your saying they have no features?
  19. I am saying when u compare Intel mobos and others, Intel lacks the features that others have for the same price.
  20. Ah ok I'll keep looking
  21. Keep in mind, this mobo is good. It is just my preference to get another one : )

I like ASUS, Gigabyte, ASrock, MSI ....
  22. Sound's like this one would be just fine for your needs...

  23. @Skullwarrior....If you're not going to overclock your i5-3570k, then why are you buying the "k" model? You can buy cheaper i5's. Also, if you don't overclock your CPU then you can get by on a cheaper motherboard (in the range of $110).

I wouldn't recommend a mATX board, cuz of heat. Buy a regular ATX and you'll be happy.

The K CPU has the mobo discounts : )
  25. If you want i5 that doesn't overclock, then you could buy this one:

However, I suggest buying the 3570k, then overclock it to 4.0 or 4.2MHz. It is a boost, not huge, but helpful. If you overclock then you need a better air supply for your CPU.
    Good one, and good price:

  26. Yes that's correct I'm not going to OC but they are the best for gaming according to reviews. Also I'll get an ATX board. Think I found one I like that's fully compatible.

    What do you guys think?
  27. There is about 50+ mobos that is fully compatible.

Just because it was made by Intel, it doesn't mean it works better than other brand.

If u look at mobo reviews, Intel is just average in the mobo world.
  28. Ok, I'll keep looking.
  29. Since u wan't to do just gaming + no OC get it.

But one day, u want to OC to maximize the power of your CPU and oops : )

Intel mobos are strong in the server league.
  30. Let me compare all the boards suggested here but feel free to keep suggesting more boards.
  31. OK i think i have figured out what i want! but i would value all feedback.

the CPU I'm going with is:

the motherboard I'm going with is:

I DON'T plan on OC at all so i was wondering if i will have heat issues and if i will require advanced cooling? I know why am i getting OC stuff if i don't plan on OC? because its part of the bundle deal and from what i have been reading its the best for gaming. :sol:

It depends what u need from the mobo. And what CPU do u have.

    They all are great.

If u will OC, all 3 will do great. Lots of useful features on all.
