7850 @ 1080p on 23 inch screen

Hi,

My Specs are

Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz soon it will be ~3.0 Ghz
Intel G41RQ m/b
4Gb Ram
Seasonic 520W
Samsung P2370 MS (23 inch LCD)

I was wondering weather to buy 7850 or a cheaper 6870 ($220 in India ) will be sufficient since 6950 are not available any more since I will be playing at 1920x1080

I would suggest that you go with the 6870, its cheaper and should give you better performance

The above is incorrect. The Radeon 7850 is better. In this case, the 50 in 7850 doesn't mean worse.

Go and get a 7850. Worth it over a 6870 In my opinion. However I think you should go with 6870 though, because that'd be sufficient for your needs and saves your money more.

I dont know if this is sounding dumb but can i watch movies in 3D with any of these cards using PowerDVD & normal 3D Glasses ??

Sorry I don't know , I don't know much about that. But that'd be cool if you buy 7850/6950 which can stay for the future.

If the 6870 is $220 and the 7850 is $260, go with the 7850. The reason why people get the 6870 is because of its cost/performance ratio ($160-$170 here in the states). At $220 its probably not worth getting it.
