My main board is a BIOSTAR TA870U3+ AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard and i paired it with a AMD Athlon II X3 455 Rana 3.3GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX455WFGMBOX. I read that the 4th core on this can be unlocked, and my mobo has unlockKING or something, so i tried it. well, my computer would act glitchy and even kinda sluggish and i really didn't give it time to do much else before i shut it off and turned unlocking off. When it unlocks it becomes a Phenom II X4 b55. My mobo has a max TDP of 140 wats so i don't think that's an issue. I have a stock heatsink, so maybe it's overheating? I don't know. Is it just a dead core? I can live with that, but id rather at least know.
I tried asking around other places, but they kind of brushed me off as an idiot and i figured i would try asking here. :( If im missing info let me know.
