Howdy everyone. With the help of the community I think I have priced out a very decent gaming rig. I'm just looking to confirm that there shouldn't be any issues with compatibility between all of the components. Also, if anyone sees any obvious places to trim costs, please let me know.

Here's my parts list:

CPU: Intel i5-3570K Ivy Bridge - $239.99

Miscellaneous Items (Windows 7 OEM, Thermal Paste, Cheapo DVD Burner) - $125.97

Total Cost: $1379.88

Thoughts?

Check the Hard Drive, youv got the 32mb Cache version listed when the 64mb is the same price. Tiny details.

I notice a lack of SSD...
I would suggest getting one.

Go bigger if you want.

RAM isnt low profile, may get caught under the Hyper 212 EVO.

You dont need thermal paste as it comes with the EVO (I'l admit, im not sure).

Good luck with the build.

EDIT:
Oh yea, the question.
That should all be compatible and fit together (if you get Low Profile RAM).

Like the other poster pointed out you want the updated 64mb cache version of that h/d. Also the Antec 900 isn't known for good cable management. The CM EVO comes with a small tube of TX-4 so you can scratch the thermal paste off your list.

Here's a build that puts you in a SSD.

the 750 is actually less $ than the 650 in the combo deal. the 750 also allows the OP the option of CF later on with plenty of headroom for overclocking.

Good Build Why_Me +1
