So...looking at the corsair ax850, an 850 watt gold certified psu.

My specs:
CPU: 2600k (Upgrading to 3770k in a couple weeks)
GPU: MSI GTX 680 OC
RAM: 2x8GB 1.5v Ripjaws
CPU Cooling: H100 PushPull
MOBO: Maximus V Formula
SSD: ADATA 256GB
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda Single Platter
ODD: Samsung Bluray
Sound: Creative X-Fi Titanium

Plus a large array of fans and usb devices piled onto my cosmos ii case.

I need to know, will the ax850 be enough? Was also thinking about SLI, so keep that in mind...will definitely be OCing the 3770k as high as it'll go. What would my headroom be like??

Solution

not even close

sli 680's have been measured taking less then 600 watts under load

you can run them on a good 650 watts psu

a 750 watt psu will give more the enough head room

850 is enough for 3 gtx 680's without an overclock

thats is terribly over priced for an under performing psu this is much better,as good as the hx/ax 750 and cheaper the the cx after promo code
