I just built a computer a few weeks back.

My motherboard supports PCI 3.0

As for the VGA that i own, I bought the Nvidia EVGA 580 GTX Classified ultra.

I can apply for the 680 GTX with EVGA's step up program where i can replace my current VGA with the new one as long as 90 days have not passed yet on my purchased.

Step Up program:

So is the 680 GTX worth the gamble since it is a new piece of hardware in a new generation with issues that remain unseen for now.

If you have the cash, do it. It's worth it.

It will cost me nothing because my current VGA is 50$ higher than the price of the 680 GTX

Then do it! GTX 680 is way faster than GTX 580. It would be a crime not to do it ;)  About the unforeseen issues: They generally don't happen, and if they happen, you can always RMA.

WHAT YOU WAITING FOR, FOOL? EVEN MURDOCH SAYS THAT'S A PLAN :)

And it's new hardware, so performance is likely to improve still further as the drivers mature and the early bugs get squashed.

WELL, WHAT YOU WAITING FOR, SUCKER?
