My needs are quite simple, so a basic wired router would suit me fine. However, wireless routers are extremely popular and get most of the manufacturers' attention. Does it make any sense to buy a wireless router and simply not use the wireless features? I'm thinking that manufacturers might devote more attention to the interfaces and support of wireless routers and endow them with the newest features, while 'old fashioned' wired routers will suffer second class treatment.
Wireless routers have a whole lot more in their interface.. because they're wireless. If you don't plan on using wireless for a while, just get the wired. It's cheaper and wireless has a new 802.11n standard coming out. When that comes out, you'd probably want to eventually switch to that anyhow.
