I would like to know if it can play minecraft 500fps. It'd be helpful if you people could tell me how high I can put the settings.

Parts:

SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon HD 6870

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black

Kingston Technology HyperX 8 GB(1600 MHz)

ASRock 970 EXTREME3

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W

Edit: Ignore the second sentence. I was thinking about something else. XD. So yeah.

Why do you need 500 fps? No monitors use more than 120, and most use 60. If you are asking to figure out if you can play another game, what is that game?

Oh it was bf3. I wanted to know how high I can put the settings while still being playable. I wanted at least 500 fps so I can put some shaders and hd texture packs, and turn up the settings all the way.

I would get an I3 because BF3 is pretty hard on your cpu.

i think your eyes can only grab 60fps or something around there

6870 will run medium to high on battle field 3 i have 2 6870s in crossfire and i still cant play with msaa turned on but every thing else on ultra is good..

also theres not a set up out there currently that can run battle field 3 at 500fps... if you want to play that game on ultra your looking at 7970 or at least a gtx 680 even then when your playing multi player your better off having a more powerful cpu.. the more cores the better..

It is more that your monitor only uses 60 fps. However, we have gone over this in the past couple replies.

Stop with the "60 fps is fine response", it's really annoying.

No you won't get 500fps. You will get about 80-130ish( I have a 6870) and you will be able to use any texture pack you want.

You don't seem to understand that you can try for 5000 fps - it won't matter - you cannot display it!!!!!! Do a little research and come back when you're being realistic!!!!.

Its really annoying when some new person comes here and expects us to tell him how much FPS he will get. Who the f*ck knows. If you want 500 fps you are an idiot.

I expect someone who has had similar results. Austin's answer was what I was expecting. The rest of you could have answered in a more respectful way.

And you should do some actual research about it on your own rather than expecting it all to be done for you. 500 FPS lawls.

It was a simple question. I have searched around and could not find an answer. A simple yes or no from someone who has a similar system would have been fine.
