This is my gaming build for the summer.

Wow everyones building 2k+ builds if only :(

CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 450 95W Processor $74.99

MOBO: ASUS M4A88T-M Socket AM3 $84.99

GPU: Gigabyte GTC 550 ti $119.99

RAM: Patriot Memory Sector 5 G Series 8 GB (2x4 GB $40.99

CASE: Apex Gaming Mid-Tower Case Computer Case V $36.72

PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power 500W ATX $39.98

Subtotal: $397.66

I have cut tons of corners , sure I wouldve liked to use a i3 or i5 with a gtx 670 but my pockets
are too damn shallow

No HDD ill use the one from my laptop and for the disk reader ill steal the one from the
home PC when needed.
Then run down to the store and grab a cheap keyboard and a quality mouse.

So any advice tips?
Like could i get an intel build at the same price and I cant even go 10 bucks over (no joke)

Thank you in advance

EDIT: left out the PSU

@ Shark PT nice I will look on that it looks mega cheap which is very nice and
even though the term bottle neck is over used wont that hinder a good Gpu?

@daswilhelm will check it out

@kulmnar left it out by mistake

Going to go over the build but feel give any more suggestions

Looks good for a very budget minded build. Do you have a 64 bit windows 7 OS? One more thing, does your case have at least 1 exhaust fan? If yes to both questions, I say go with the build you have :)

Ok I went over the build with the recommended advice.
I did manage to save off a couple more dollars (sweet) but maybe i took a performance hit?

I dont really acre about ability to upgrade because the next time im goin to
it is going to be dual gtx 680s and i wont be putting those on a 60 dollar borad =)

also this build being intel it might make resale value good (brand)

CPU: Intel G530 CPU 2.40 GHZ $47.29

MOBO: ASUS P8H61-M <REV 3.0> Intel H61 $69.99

GPU: Gigabyte GTC 550 ti $119.99

RAM: Patriot Memory Sector 5 G Series 8 GB (2x4 GB $40.99

CASE: Apex Gaming Mid-Tower Case Computer Case V $36.72

PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power 500W ATX $39.98

Subtotal $354.96

So will this be good enough for mmorpgs , Bf3 and anything else i might want to throw at
it and not be disapointed

I am partial to nvidia.

Sp is my updated build good to order?

Again any performance issues if i was to run a a game like BF3

Like the CPU cant keep up with the GPU?

Since the cpu is on the lower end?

Nice except that PSU try a Corsair CX430 V2, increase the bclk to 105 and you have a Celeron G540 for free  .

sorry to bump my thread but im am going to order tomorrow and i just wanted some final opinions. :bounce:

here is my updated build '

Motherboard : GIGABYTE GA-H61M-DS2 LGA 1155

CPU : Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor G850 2.9GHz OR Intel Core i3-2100 Processor 3.1GHz

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB or Radeon 6770 (will be using Fraps a lot )

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX V2 500-Watt 80 Plus Certified

RAM: Patriot Memory Sector 5 G Series 8 GB (2x4 GB)

No hdd or case needed

I will be playing mostly mmorpgs and online fps like dragon nest and combat arms and maybe dirt series , NFS shift , Bullet storm , bio shock or any other titles i might feel like playing.

I Wont be playing too much of BF3 or MW3 (not my cop of tea)

So i wont be playing demanding titles but might like to have a bit of head room if i choose to.

Again i would love to stick to a g530 but my research tells me that they are \awful for gaming and are more
suited for a office computer or something.

Could i get more performance out of an amd cpu and mobo at the above choices price point?

thank you ^^
