6970 worth upgrading to GTX680?

I currently have an i5 2500k w/ an asus p8p67 motherboard with a 2.0 pcie x16 single.
My graphics card is a HIS HD6970 2gb.

I really want to get a 3D setup before Diablo 3 comes out and I want it to be a nice setup. I've been debating between Samsung's 950D 27" 120hz 3D monitor. If sticking to the amd setup.

I must admit though I am a huge fan of asus and their 27" VG278H paired with a asus GTX 680 sounds really nice. Then just sell my 6970 on craigslist/amazon, I'm sure I could get ~$220 for it.

which of these sounds best. I'm not too price worried I was planning on ~$1500 for the monitor, card, and 5.1 surround system.

I have the cash and desire it greatly haha but newegg is sold out, I ordered mine from frys.com hoping this was the right choice..

any insight anybody? newegg sold out 30minutes after the 680's went online, so im guessing chances on getting another when the restock will be slim also. is frys trust worthy, the 680's are all on preorder status from frys but the release date was the 22nd so why is it still a preorder status?

They're probably still in preorder for the same reason newegg is sold out - there just isn't enough stock to meet demand.

I'd guess that you might be waiting a few weeks to get a 2nd one, and you may even be waiting a couple weeks to get your first one

Hopefully frys hasnt gotten their first shipment yet from the manufacturs on their website it says they will ship out preorders as soon as they get them in, so hopefully ill catch this first batch they swing out if they didnt launch a bunch out already on wed thursday fri and then today, but if they sell out of their stock before they even get it im not sure if they just keep taking preorders for the next batch which hopefully isnt my case and then I would be waiting
