AMD FX-8120 @ 3.1 GHz. 8 core stock or 4 core overclock?

I've been trying to find something to back either positioning to no avail. This is mostly in terms of gaming performance, I understand that the FX series bottlenecks a bit in comparison to Intel chips for gaming, but this was built as budget computer and was about the best deal I could get on a decent processor. The rig only has about a 600w PSU so temperatures have to be kept in mind as I've heard that regardless this chip already runs incredibly hot with the 125w base usage.

Your guys' help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

well the psu wattage doesnt really apply at 600watts for an OC, im running a really cheap raidmax 500 watt on a 125 wat x6 witha small oc and it doesnt cause heat issues with the increases wattage.

And i agree with rds

If you are going to overclock it you're going to have to get a good aftermarket air cool if you don't have one yet. For the price the Hyper 212 EVO is a great aftermaket cooler.
