Dual Display Stopped Working After Shutting Laptop Screen

I plugged up my computer display for the first time to my laptop (compaq presario c770us) and it worked fine i was using the extended screen option trying to play a youtube video stretched on both screens but i couldnt strength it so i just dragged that window to the monitor since that screen is bigger then my laptop to watch the video but after doing that i shut the laptop and the monitor turned off to sleep and wont come back on ;(. I tryed restarting the computer and still no luck. Any Advice ??

Well, in most cases closing the screen on a laptop puts it so sleep. What connection are you using? Are you sure that the GPU on the laptop can support 2 displays?
