PS Upgrade recommendation.....

Hi all - Looking to upgrade my current 460w PS (cooler master) possibly as soon as next week as economically as possible for a 600-750w unit.
I am not a gamer, so decent quality will suffice. My current set up is: i5-3570k, gigabyte z77 mobo, 8g ddr3 1333, 2 - 500g hdd, 1 usb port drive & 1 ext hdd (which i rarely use, only to copy photo's too as an extra backup).

I have found these 2 attractively priced options at Newegg and looking for opinions or alternatives:

Thanx

  1. Not a gamer, no mention of a video card, 350w would be more than enough
450w gives plenty of room for a video upgrade, will provide higher efficiency and will cost you less than your attractively priced units

  2. Hi - thanx for quick response. Looking to upgrade PS to accomodate new video card. I had already been advised here at Tom's
that one of the cards (hd7870) I'm interested would need more power than my current 460w. If I don't need to upgrade I'd be thrilled.

Your current 460w , isn't, and is considered a pos
With no monster overclocking going , being as your not a gamer, the 450w I linked is still fine
  4. Hi - thanx again delluser1 - you're the 2nd person here to charactize that ps as a pos, so I certainly agree. I looked at the one you recommended
and it appears to be an excellent choice.

My own opinion was, it didn't make sense (cost, labor, n research) to upgrade unless I was going to increase power and quality.
Both of those units in my original post net with rebates and promo codes(1 expires on 9/20) to $59.99. I'm willing to go as high as $79.99 net, so I thot
these 2 were a good starting point.

    Thanx again
