I have had a KodakLS443 for a couple of years now. Earlier this year it
stopped taking pictures or showing anything on the LCD so it went back to
Kodak, and was returned (for free) with a new control wheel, new firmware
(1.03) and other changes (I've binned the paper which said what). I now
find that when you go to maximum optical zoom and into digital zoom it loses
focus; OK at lesser zoom. Before I send it back again can anyone suggest if
this might be a hardware or firmware problem? I've been told it will take 5
weeks & at least £130 to repair, so might not be worth it as it works apart
from max zoom. Thank you for any help you can give.

Greetings Robin,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. I suggest you call the Kodak team and ask
for details. It is hard to tell what might be going on without having seen
the camera directly. You can call them at the following number. I know they
will take care of you. Let them know you talked to me if you like.

Talk to you soon Robin, let me know if there are questions.

Ron - thank you for your advice and phone number. I called them today and
explained the problem (without mentioning your name). I was told that the
camera could not be repaired again and that if I sent it back to Kodak I
would have the choice of two alternatives for a replacement; an LS753 or a
CX7330. I chose the LS753, but as I am going on holiday in a fortnight I
will keep the LS443 until I get back. Sounds like very good service to me,
as the LS443 is out of warranty although only repaired in May. I'll see how
things go at the end of August. Thanks again for your help.
