"X2" in Radeon HD 4850 X2 ?

What does this x2 indicates ?

More about : radeon 4850

It means there are 2 GPUs on that graphics card.

before the 5k series ati (now amd) use x2 moniker to indicated their dual gpu card. now they use X990 prefix for their dual gpu part. but some vendor still use the x2 moniker for their custom dual gpu for amd card such as 6870 X2

yup. but SLI is nvidia term. ati (amd) called it as crossfire. different names but they did the same thing
