System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, photo and video editing, rendering videos in 720p for YouTube

Additional Comments: The $1600 budget needs to include the OS, and what I mean by 4-5 months from now is I'll be buying the parts separately and not all at the same time. So I'll have everything purchased in about 5 months.

If you are going to do heavy video/photo editing and rendering, you might want to think about an i7 and extra ram.

Otherwise, the build in my sig was around $1500usd with a monitor. Substitute in a gtx670 and possibly a bigger psu for sli/cf and your good to go.

You need to just purchase the GPU last. 5 months is a very long time in GPU evolution.

Case and PSU are fairly safe early purchases.

This is a copy & paste from a build I posted a month ago. So the prices have changed (I'm guessing) but it gives you a basic idea to look at. For what you want I would go with 16GB of RAM ...either 4x4 or 2x8 (Best Direct Canada for the RAM), and maybe an I7 cpu like the 3770K.
