2 computers 1 cable modem can i use both on same modem?

hi sir

i have two computer in office.we connected both without modem and switch ie direct connection .one pc connected printer that printer share the other one . when usb qtel broadband connection enabled that time we did not get net access but when local area connection disabled we get net acces .i humbly request you to please give replay.

get a home router to connect more than 1 computer to the net at a time. Most modems only hand out 1 IP address.

You will most likely need a router.
