60+ fps you need a hd6990 (wich is basicaly 2 card).

Best bet for your money is the 6970 before it get out of stock everywere. A 350$GPU and run the game at 45fps on ultra quality with 4AA: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-3-graphics-performance,3063-10.html

a HD7970 or a 680gtx would do bether then a 6970 but worst then a 6990 and at the 500$+ price tag.

The 6970 is a realy great money/value GPU and would run any other game beside BF3 at 60fps+ in 1080p

Also BF3 ultra quality with no AA on a 6970 will be around 55fps in 1080p.

I doubt that you'll be disapointed with the hd6970 for the price tag realy.

Edit: some poeple posted video about lagging on BF3 ultra quality 4aa with a 1gb GPU due to last of Vram.

The HD6970 might be 50$ over your price compared to the 560ti but it totaly worth the extra $.

i agree with everyone, bf3 will not run at 60+ fps on ultra on any 300U$ video card, but like i've said, for that price, the best solution is a 560 ti 448 cores, for that resolution i think that you will get really good frames and really i don't think that you will need anything over that for playing at only 1080p.

Nvidia Chart of performance, what you are looking for is actually a 580 or above but you can't go at that price range:

if you can expand that the 6970 is a good option:
