hi,
i have a nokia 3585 in which some menu functions have been disabled by my
mobile operator.
is it possible to restore this to factory settings. i have a DKU5 cable for
this phone. some utility / software which can work this?

You could possibly re-flash the phone with generic firmware, but if
you do that you may also mess with custom settings that your mobile
operator has made for that phone. Generally the CDMA operators
(Sprint PCS, Verizon, Qwest, etc.) have the manufacturer customize the
firmware for their systems unlike for GSM where one phone will work
anywhere provided that you have the correct technology/frequency.
