Hey guys, I currently have a Sapphire HD 5770, I saw on ebay that you can get another 5770 for about £60, But i cant find another Saphire one, so im just wondering if it would be ok to crossfire a Sapphire one with a HIS one.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As far as I know, it's perfectly okay to combine 2 different brands. Allthough it's still recommended to use the same brand, but I've never read about anyone having trouble with it. Eventhough it's a different brand, the gpu etc are still the same.

Hope this helped.

Yes infact you can do so! Generally it is recommended to try and get the same brand which makes sense. However 2 different brands should never give you any trouble when using the same model. Sometimes even slightly different models can be used in crossfire, its a pretty well designed and adaptable system.

Cylemmulo, you can indeed sometimes combine 2 different cards. For example, you can combine a hd 6950 with a hd 6970. But both cards will be scaled to the settings of the weakest card.

Like mentioned 100's of other times on this forum, it works. The faster card will clock down to the slower ones speed if they are different speeds.
