I have a RAGE 128 PRO Ultra GL AGP video card, and I've been searching throughout the internet for MONTHS and can't seem to find the perfect replacement for this really outdated graphics card. I would be glad to provide my system's info if needed. All I ask is a response that helps conclude this old journey of mine.

Please help.

It's 14a. That is what I was looking at earlier when I searched. You may have an issue with these cards especially with the age of the psu. The 4650 uses the least out of these. You also have pci which may open a few more doors. What is your budget anyways? It may be simpler to buy a used pc, I can usually find full core 2 duo rigs with decent cards for ~$150 on craigslist.

Yes, this is going to be a gaming build. But, I plan on using it to play games from pre-2000 to around 2006? Also, here are the full specs. :)

Your system is severly outdated. The best card you could probably put in this system that is still for sale is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161337.

I would also consider upgrading your 256MB of system ram to 1GB+ if you are determined to continue using this pc for any gaming.

Is this all I need? I'm hoping my dinosaur can run Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand theft Auto Vice City. :)

That's okay. I usually play my games on low settings. Besides, its all about gameplay and THEN graphics. :D

Thanks so much! :wahoo:

Last question: What specific video card do you recommend in the link that you've given me?

As of right now, I am using my dino of a PC to read and reply to these answers. So, I might have to give you the PSU results later tonight or tomorrow. May I PM you the results, or bump this thread?

All I could dig up from the PSU sticker was:

Model: Dell Model NPS 250GB B
Input: 100-120V
200-240V
170W
Output: ???
250W MAX

Is this enough information? :??:

While the overall wattage of the psu seems ok, i would look at the amperage on the 12v rail if i were you. Everything i can see states 20-25amps on the 12v rail for a 4850, and I am guessing your psu is an older style with more of the amperage on the 5v rail than on the 12v rail.
