I have 2 processors I would like to choose from, and also do the Intel Pentium D proccesors come with hyperthreading?

Intel Pentium D Processor 830 3.0GHz w/ 2x1MB Cache, EM64T

Manufacturer: Intel
SKU: 5844
Part No: BX80551PG3000FN

Our Price:
$259.95

Product Info

* The Intel® Pentium® D Processor is a dual-core processor for the desktop PC. It consists of two complete execution cores in one physical processor, both running at the same frequency. Both cores share the same packaging and the same interface with the chipset/memory.

A dual-core processor is like a four-lane road — it can handle up to twice as many cars as a two-lane road without making each car drive twice as fast.

The Pentium D processor when combined with the Intel® 945 Express Chipset creates a platform that will enable new computing experiences. This new platform delivers value by providing additional computing resources that expand the PC's capabilities in the form of higher throughput and simultaneous computing. Similarly, with an Intel dual-core processor-based PC, users can perform multiple tasks such as downloading music and gaming simultaneously.

im not a big fan on intel so someone may have to correct me, i would go with the intel 930.

can i suggest that you change your username? Bugmenot is a extension used by firefox users to gain access to free accounts without filling in any details, but on a forum like this you will get a better response if you sign up.

btw if you do alot of gaming go AMD, but if your encoding then go for that 930.

The Pentium D 930 runs much cooler. Get that if you go Intel. Try to step up to an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ if you are willing to spend the extra money.

The X2 3800 matches or beats the 830/930 in most benchmarks.

If you can wait, wait 3 weeks for the AM2 launch which will push prices lower.
