why do people say that the AMD drivers are bad?

I mean, I just bought a hd 6850, to replace my old 8800 gt and I was a bit concerned about the drivers at first (because of the rumours on the Internet), but I haven't encountered the first problem yet. Even with new games like Shogun 2 fall of the samurai. Even with windows 7 64 bits.

So is it a myth or was I just lucky?

Driver problems are just ways for NVIDIA fanboys to bash on AMD GPUs.
