...Will HD 3000 Graphics be fine for some games? I am willing to play them on lowered settings until the GTX 680 is back in stock. My CPU will be an i5-2500k processor OCed to 4.5 GHz. I plan to play BF3 and Skyrim.

Sadly, that review does not include any of the games I play.

Basically, you really can't play many games with an Intel integrated graphics at 1920x1080. I tried CODMW a few times and it just didn't work out, it would play but very slowly.
It's OK for web browsing or note writing but forget fragging with it.
My settings were probably set high on that CODMW, I didn't think to lower them at the time.

its going to be a stretch to play those games on the HD3000.
I would not hold ur breath but give it a go, can't hurt right.

I really don't wish to wait if it will not be worth playing with HD 3000 graphics until the GTX 680 comes out. I might just go with the Radeon 7950. Thoughts?

I wouldn't overclock the cpu, I would overclock the igp. On my 2600k I was able to hit 1.8ghz stable on the igp and it played older games, such as killing floor @1080P (90fps+) on lowest details.

I doubt it will work with BF3 and Skyrim. :/

BF3 and Skyrim maybe at the lowest details and medium res.

At what fps? Cuz if it is not playable, I am not waiting for the GTX 680 to stock back up and will get the Radeon 7950 instead.

This is not even bought yet, as stated by the will be getting statement in the OP.

If it isnt bought yet why not wait for Ivy Bridge and 680, whats a few more weeks, and I bet your current pc runs those games and if it doesnt, again, well you waited this long to play the games, whats a few more weeks...

The 680 is such a better card and cheaper AND its nvidia so much better drivers.

Azeem, according to your info you have 2318 posts in the past 18 weeks, over 18 posts a day! Haven't you learned anything yet? Either buy it or don't buy it. It's your money!

Hmm, I guess I will just have to play RS with integrated graphics until stock comes in.
