7850 DX11 problems

I think I'm having a driver issue --
I have a 7850 Sapphire and I've been getting terrible FPS in everything i've done.. until...
I ran Heaven benchmark on OpenGL. With everything on max, I was getting almost double FPS on OpenGL than I was on DX11, or even DX10 or Dx9
I have the latest catalyst drivers .. anybody know why DX things wouldn't be working?

Is DirectX even installed?

yeah dxdiag says i'm running dx11, gpu-z agrees

admittedly, i was wondering the same thing though. is there any more definitive way to check

just download and install it. try the bench again.

TBH though, i wouldn't be surprised if its running normally. heaven especially is TESS heavy in Dx11, and the 7850 may be having trouble with it.

i don't think it's heaven
i was err.. running skyrim like 55 fps UNDER what i should have been getting
i couldn't even play battlefield bad company 2 maxed out above 20 fps...

I think it's definitely Dx11, not heaven//

Ok, in that case you should certainly bne getting better performance.

Just download the latest dx package.

also, did you do a clean uninstall of the old drivers before installing the new card and its drivers?

i just built this pc a few days ago, so everything was clean (Clean windows install)
i might just reinstall windows again. is there any way to actually download the latest dx package? microsoft doesn't have anything in their dl section because dx11 is integrated with windows 7

I always rely on steam, since it will install DX when you install a game.

just to confirm, what are your other system specs?

i use steam buddy
also, i used dxdiag and several other things... i definitely have dx11
my specs ---

intel core i5 2500k @ 3.4 Ghz, 8gb corsair vengeance @1600, western digital 500 gb @7200, raidmax psu 730w, asus p8z68-v gen3 and of course the 7850 sapphire @920mhz
