A few weeks ago, my PC crashed and I was no longer able to boot from my HDD. I put in a new one, thinking it had been the HDD that failed, and several weeks later, my PC crashed once again, and again, I was unable to boot from my HDD. At this point, I figured it had to be something other than the HDD's that had failed. I put my original HDD in an old PC of mine, and found that it was detected, so I knew it wasn't fried. Same for the second HDD. A friend of mine advised that I try resetting my CMOS. That worked, and I was able to boot from my first HDD again. However, after several hours (I think around 3), my PC crashed, and I couldn't boot from the HDD anymore. My friend had suggested that maybe a RAID Controller would solve the problem. I decided to give it a shot, so I bought a Rosewill SATA II/ATA 133 PCIe Card. In the info, it said it had hotplugging/plug'n'play support, but I installed it and it's not really showing up, and the drivers aren't being found. I tried booting from the driver disc that came with it, but to no avail. I was wondering if it was possible to install the driver for the card without having to boot into my HDD (since that's not possible), so that it could be detected and hopefully recognize my HDD, since my MoBo won't.
Sorry for being so long-winded, but TL;DR I bought a RAID controller because my MoBo won't play nice with my HDD but I can't use the RAID controller since I can't install the drivers, how do I install them without booting into my HDD.
Thanks for the help!
Also, if there is any info that I haven't put in that would help me get a good answer, please tell me. I'll provide to the best of my knowledge.
