APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: next 2 weeks, budget $150-$200

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming to general use

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Ati radeon 5850

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3, AMD Phenom II X4 955, antec ea 750w

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg

PARTS PREFERENCES: Ati cards first

OVERCLOCKING: no

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: ok so my issue is im a bit lost as to what to do and would like some advice from everyone. I just got an older system to work by replacing the psu on it. The specs on the older system is 2gb or ram, amd 64 x2 core cpu, and an antec 500w psu. I would like this older system to be able to run diablo 3 so im thinking about moving my 5850 to this pc and buying a new upgrade for my main pc. The new upgrade i was looking into is a 6850. I would like some thoughts on the 6850. Also would this be a smart idea or should i just keep the 5850 and buy a lower gpu for the older pc? I want to make it so both pc can run diablo 3.

Thank you all for your input

Well, HD5850 is actually more powerful than HD6850:

So, if anything, you should keep HD5850 in your main PC or buy something more powerful than HD6850 if you want to upgrade it.

Both cards are doing almost the same, maybe the HD 5850 is a bit better.

@OP
If you wanna replace the HD 5850, replace it with a high end GPU such as HD 7870, if you wanna put a card on an aged system so pick up the mid range card such as HD 5670.

Ah ok thank you on the advice. I'm going to go with the plan on upgrading the aged system. My only question is will the aged system be able to run the 5670 and will it run diablo 3. Also are there any other cards that can run on this system, be able to play D3 and less expensive as the 5670. Thank you for your time

Yes it will, at least in the medium settings. And the 5670 will do a great job.
