im currently looking for a new video card that can play MW3 on just a decent settings (medium - low) but my current video card is killing me.

my current build is this:

cpu - i5 2320 @ 3.00GHz
gpu - xfx or ati(i dont know which) hd 5450 1GB
mobo - intel DH61WW
RAM - 4GB kingston
case - intex supernova
psu - 450 W
avr - intex it-3550 (they say it can produce 600W but i dont know)
monitor - AOC e943Fw (1366 x 768 @ 60hz)

now my problem is as i mention above i want to play MW3 at decent settings(maybe i'll put the image quality to high but the rest will be on low settings) but my video card wont let me play MW3 it gets laggy(maybe i'll add crysis 2, BF3, hawx2, some FPS games).. thanks in advance.

and im only looking for a video card nothing else... or maybe you can add something, im still currently learning on the hardware stuff.. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

upgrades on the hardware will be done next year or 2 so i think i shall stick with my current build except for the GPU

and for the price cap. i dont know but maybe a $100 will do but i can adjust.. i only know little about video cards!!

and lastly, my friend told my that picking graphics card i shall stick to nvidia only.. comments on this??

I don't trust Intex PSUs, they tell they can provide 450W, but they actually provide less than 300W. Very bad.

Yes, the 5450 is an HTPC card intended for quietness and cheap price just for you know watching movies and browsing. So not for gaming purposes at all, that's why it lags.

Because of the limitation of your power supply, the best one you'll probably get is a 7750. It doesn't require additional PCI-E power and should be OK on a 250W PSU. It'll also gives good performance on that resolution. I think it would be also future proof.

(Good luck finding one if you can't buy from there, but hey it's $110)

Your friend is wrong man, at that budget Nvidia does not win :).

If you're gonna upgrade everything including the CPU, go for the GTX 570. (Assuming you're going to play @ 1080P and you want great FPS as u said)

If you're going to just upgrade the PSU right now and will stick with your current monitor so the HD 6770 will give you the best performance.

You should definitely stick with AMD at this price point, they're just plain less expensive. nVidia is in no way better than AMD, they both just have different strengths and weaknesses.

A 6770 can be had near $100.
A 6850 is a little more, but you can find it around $120.

Toss that junky PSU and get an Antec or Corsair 450W. You'll definitely want to with either one of those cards.
